Why a dedicated SIL marketplace exists
Under the NDIS, SDA and SIL are deliberately separated. SDA pays for the physical home; SIL pays for the workers who assist you in it. Because they are funded, contracted and delivered differently, it makes sense to search them on platforms designed for each. SIL Connect is built end-to-end for Supported Independent Living — vacancies, provider profiles, rostering models and housemate context.
What you can do on SIL Connect
- Search SIL vacancies by state, suburb and support ratio.
- Compare SIL providers by service model and areas served.
- See shared-home vacancies with information about existing housemates (where consented).
- Enquire directly with the SIL provider — no auto-sharing of participant data.
Start at silconnect.com.au and use the search bar to enter a suburb or postcode.
Using SDA Listings and SIL Connect together
Most participants with SDA funding also need some form of support at home. A common flow is:
- Shortlist SDA homes on Find an SDA Home.
- Confirm which SIL providers already operate in each building.
- If you have choice, compare SIL providers on SIL Connect.
- Sign SDA and SIL agreements separately so you can change one without losing the other.
For support coordinators
Coordinators can run parallel shortlists — SDA on SDA Listings and SIL on SIL Connect — and present a combined recommendation to the participant. Our SDA search checklist pairs well with the SIL provider comparison workflow on SIL Connect.
For providers
If you deliver SDA, list vacancies on SDA Listings. If you deliver SIL, list vacancies on SIL Connect. Many organisations do both and maintain profiles on both platforms.
Where to start
Bookmark both platforms: Find an SDA Home for the housing and SIL Connect for the support.
