The fastest search
For a national view, go directly to silconnect.com.au and enter your suburb. SIL Connect indexes vacancies from participating providers across every state and territory.
Victoria
The deepest SIL market in Australia, concentrated around Melbourne (inner north, inner west, south-east) and growing quickly in Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo. Pair with SDA homes in Victoria if you also need SDA.
New South Wales
Sydney has the highest SIL rates due to location loadings on SDA and higher wage costs. Central Coast and Newcastle are common alternatives with better availability. See SDA homes in NSW.
Queensland
Brisbane and the Gold Coast dominate; Sunshine Coast, Townsville and Cairns have growing supply. Climate-appropriate designs are common. See SDA homes in Queensland.
South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, ACT and NT
Smaller markets with fewer providers, so shortlists are usually shorter. Use SIL Connect to see all participating providers in one place rather than trawling individual websites.
A note on lead time
Good SIL vacancies fill quickly, especially in shared homes where the provider is matching housemates. Enquire early, be clear about your support ratio, and be ready to inspect within days rather than weeks.
